THE MAGICSCOPE

To be produced entirely within Studioscope, including all models, sets, lighting, filming, edit and post-production, this 25 minute stop-frame animated film follows one young boy's exploration of a most remarkable Christmas present. The story takes us on a journey across the universe and to a meeting he will never forget....

This enchanting short story is to be completely produced in central Liverpool - the only thing we are not doing is the music!.

The Magicscope is the first of three currently planned productions, ranging from the single short film, through a 12 part educational childrens' series and right up to a full length animated feature film with an initial guideline budget of £12m and a possible crew of 120!

Sept 06 - We are currently constructing test sets, photographic proving set-ups and publicity models for the film. In November (2006) we are filming a pre-production teaser trailer for the film.

FILMING / ANIMATION SERVICES

As an aside to the above production, our filming services and growing expertise will be made available for outside production companies to use in the creation of animation sequences, commercials, promos, effects sequences, set design and build, lighting and props.

We see the production of The Magicsope as an ideal way of developing local facilities and skills for the wider use by other producers. By developing our own focused talent and filming facilities we can also help develop the local film making base and in doing so enable Liverpool to be more than simply an interesting backdrop to visiting film units.

Eventually we hope to offer the following...

Crew, designers, model-makers, lighting equipment and rigging, smoke machines, camera support equipment including tracks and Steadicam, set building, special wardrobe items, visual effects and studio hire.
